And, here’s the famous Haddison Darlene once again– only now she’s one! Can you believe it? It wasn’t too long ago we did her sweet little newborn photos… and there is a mulit-part blog treat coming right up this week. A look back at the full ‘bundled up’ package of baby haddie, her lovely vintage birthday party, and her fabulous 1 year takes the cake session. And, don’t forget to go and vote for Haddie very soon in the baby gap cute kid contest. Really… she is the cutest. It’s really just not fair to the others, we think!

So, let’s talk about this birthday party. Lindsey of Darling Collections crafted this amazing event with her bare hands… every last little stitch. Her family owns a demolition and recycling business called Diamond Street Recycling where they come across all kinds of crazy stuff. Ever watch that show, American Pickers? Well, Lindsey and her mom could put those guys to shame with the collection of antique furniture, knick knacks, vintage fixtures, toys and whatever you could possibly NOT imagine! She just pulled out all of these tables and chairs, refinished a few dressers, covered about 30 chair cushions with matching fabric, created the sign and backboard from a found piece of wood– yes it was already that awesome teal color, and voila! The best 1st birthday party ever- one that could beat many a wedding! They rented a tent and the whole nine yards and pulled off an amazingly beautiful event complete with chandeliers, flower gift bag center pieces, delicious cupcakes, desert table custom silhouette invitations (a la Ampersand of course!) and a matching chalkboard cut out that Lindsey hand routed (not sure if that’s the right word) at the centennial school shop class with the teach. Check out all the glorious details, then look at that baby’s stinkin’ cute face dig into some cake!

The next day, we took the props back out for a small styled shoot for her to dig in yet again. Hold please, it will be up shortly!

Ever since the day we met, I feel like they are old friends- they are so fun and down-to-earth, I could just hang out with them all day…and in some ways, I guess you can say that I do- between the Scramble with Friends and Draw Something games I play with Katelyn all day long! It’s pretty hard to plan a wedding in Boise, Idaho. There are only a handful of good indoor venues and you just never know what the weather is going to do. The joke is that if you don’t like the weather in Boise…. just wait 5 minutes. March in Boise however, is a little more predictable… it is probably going to rain. Cara and Bryan were totally fine with this reality and accommodated by choosing the Adelmann as their venue where their guests could be sheltered in the wet month of March. This is why I was so pleasantly surprised with what we got to work with- seriously the most beautiful day I have ever seen in my 26 years of living in Boise. It reminded me of the days I spent in Southern California. The perfect point between warm and hot, a slight breeze, cloudy skies and of course the most amazing bride, groom and group of people to work with. I don’t think anything about Cara and Bryan’s wedding could have been more perfect. These two are so hilarious and we love them to death! The day flew by and we had plenty of time to get lots of great photos. Every moment was full of emotion from laughter to tears (sorry Bryan!) and a ton of fun dancing and playing in the photobooth!

I definitely can’t get out of talking about how absolutely stuh-uhninng Cara was. We were so spoiled with her crazy gorgeousness! And, as you look on you will see Cara’s ‘sparkling’ personality ‘shine’ through in pretty much everything! This girly girl loves a few things other than Bryan and that would be stilettos, bling and jeeps (Well the jeeps are a mutual love, I am sure Bryan will learn to love the other two eventually). The minute I saw Cara’s shoes I knew that they were made for her- but I knew that I was going to have them tracking through downtown Boise for an hour of photographs- gosh we are evil aren’t we!? Everything from the chair decorations to the little mini chandeliers in the centerpieces by Bliss were sparkling. We love how a person can come through so much in tiny wedding details!

Thank you SOOOO much guys, for choosing Ampersand to photograph your wedding- it was such an honor to be a part of the start of your lives together. Here’s the first look back at this incredible day. Enjoy.

I can’t even tell you how much I stinkin’ LOVE these two! Stacey has been a good friend of mine for quite awhile now. We actually used to work at the Bobbi Brown make up counter together, then became roommates- then she met Chris, I was a bridesmaid in her wedding, and always- life long friends! I have been begging her and Chris to let me do an anniversary session for them- but with their actual anniversary being in prime wedding season, we said: “heck- why don’t we just do it now?!” actually, nobody said that- but we ultimately decided now was better for everyone. I had such a hard time picking my favorites for the blog because there are soooo many good ones. And when you are dealing with people this good lookin’- makes it hard to choose. Love you guys!
